A warm welcome
Sew Pretty is a small, very friendly and independently owned sewing workshop set in a relaxed garden studio in Wimbledon, South West London. Our sewing classes are small, informal and affordable, offering plenty of one to one support to help you build up your confidence. All our tutors are inspirational, professional and experienced dressmakers and crafters. Our aim is to teach our students how to sew and to inspire them to create and express their individuality whilst having an enjoyable experience.
Despite being small we have taught some 5000 adults and over 2500 children how to sew, make clothes, create garments and decorate their homes with handmade items of soft furnishing.
So, feeling creative? Want to become a fashion designer? Or maybe you just want to try something different and be proud to say to your friends ‘I made it myself’. We'd be happy to welcome you to our studio and help you explore the world of making, creating and sewing.
A little bit about me...
It has been an incredible journey so far, and a definite creative whirlwind since we first opened our doors here at Sew Pretty back in 2013.
I first discovered my mum’s sewing machine at the age of eight. As a curious child, I made many craft items, dresses for my dollies, played with materials and improvised techniques. I was determined to continue and grow my knowledge further.
I’ll never forget the day I received my first Singer sewing machine at the age of fifteen. I continued my journey at the College of Fashion Design and started my own clothes label shortly after my graduation.
My love for fabrics, handmade items and creating personalized designs has always excited me. I wish to share my passion for dressmaking and sewing to inspire others to learn this wonderful skill.
