Class Description
It’s time to overcome your fear of stretchy materials and learn how to handle them correctly. Perhaps, you are a sewing expert but never attempted a project using challenging knit fabrics. Or maybe you were not quite sure where to begin. Let us help demystify knit fabrics.
You will learn how to choose the perfect knit fabric and learn to fit knit necklines, sleeves, waistbands, skirts, belts. Learn to master control on your overlocker and sewing machine stretchy stitches. You will learn great new techniques and become a fearless knit expert. Choose from bodice with long, ¾ or no sleeves.
Is this course right for me?
This more advanced sewing course is designed for those who know their way around a sewing machine. You need to be able to confidently use a sewing machine, made multiple clothes and be familiar with all the basics stretchy clothes. Ideally, you would have already completed our Knickers & Batwing stretchy classes, or you would have some experience with knit fabrics and techniques.

What do I need to bring?
For this class, you will need to bring along:
- Dress fabric (size 8 - 16)
- - 2.5m (250cm) of 140m wide mid-stretch jersey, ponte roma, scuba, soft fleece
- - Matching thread
Alternatively, you can buy fabric from us for £18 when booking this course.
Just to sew things up...
All sewing machines, and equipment are provided. Although if you would like to bring your own sewing machine to learn on, you are welcome to. Refreshments and biscuits are included and a glass of wine for all evening classes to help create a seamless atmosphere.
